ZEALOT: A fanatically commited person; one who is zealous, especially, exsessively so.

When we initially decided on the name, ‘Zealots Desire’, “Zealot” was intended to represent each band member individually.  It has since grown far beyond us and now represents a dream that we can all share; a dream to fearlessly be who you are and who you were always meant to be; a dream of zealously crashing through the hurdles and obstacle’s the “world” would have you leap over.

The sound of Zealots Desire has been influenced by an array of artists.  From the earlier rock greats such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Jethro Tull, to current legends: Tool, System of a Down and Soundgarden.  Some could describe certain Zealots Desire elements to be influenced by such classical composers as Beethoven and Chopin.

The current line-up features Joshua Cunningham on lead vocals and guitar, Ryan Daniels on bass guitar, Matt Babineau on lead guitar and Dan Hunt on drums.

Zealots Desire has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great bands such as Monster Truck, My Darkest Days, Bleeker Ridge, Helix, Russ Dwarf, Die Mannequin, Jonas And The Massive Attraction, and Bobnoxious just to name a few; and have enjoyed performing at many different festivals such as Canadian Music Week, Indie Music Week, 91.5 The Beat’s Kitchener Music Festival, London’s Fallfest, KOI Music Festival, Indiefest, and the Music On Main Festival.

While all members of Zealots Desire have been striving towards a confident musical career since their late childhoods; Zealots Desire itself was born 2005, in Ryan Daniels basement.  Zealots Desire will continue to grow and “rock” crowds with their high energy entertainment as far as the dream may carry them.
